What are you up to for Mandela Day?
Mandela Day is just around the corner! 18 July
What can you do to assist whilst on holiday enjoying the likes of the Drakensberg, KwaZulu Natal Midlands and other relaxing holiday destinations?
We have heard from a few projects along our N3 Route that require assistance.
Singakwenza – Early Childhood Education
- Encourages you to get 67 friends and colleagues to sign up for My School and select Singakwenza as a beneficiary.
- Donate R67 to buy peanut butter for the creches.
- Share their social media pages with 67 people, encouraging them to follow their good news stories
- Spend 67 minutes knitting beanies for the children of the creches.
- Donate R67 to buy stationery for Grade R children for their Grade 1 stationery packs

Join the beautiful children of the Royal Drakensberg Primary School, situated in the Northern Drakensberg, for 67 minutes of fun from 10h30 onwards on the 18th of July.
The children are looking forward to creating a craft that reminds them of Nelson Mandela and would love to end their morning with a story read by you. So come and find out more about the Royal Drakensberg Primary School through their website or follow them on Facebook and join in!
Pietermaritzburg Botanical Gardens
The KZN Botanical Gardens, Pietermaritzburg, invites you to come through on the 15th of July, enjoy this relaxing destination free of charge, yes no entrance fee will be charged. The only requirement is to donate toiletries or sanitary pads in the bins provided. The upgraded kids play area will have face painters and games for the children, you may even win a raffle prize on the day.

Project Gateway, The Old Prison, on Burger Street, Pietermaritzburg, will be hosting a Mandela Market Day, 18th July, 10am – 5pm. Come and support local talent buy making a purchase. Contact Nokuthula for more information on 082 0801808
Should you be visiting the KwaZulu Natal Midlands this winter; the Lions River Primary School, a state school, is requiring assistance with cupboard and storage space for their school kitchen and administration room. They are currently struggling with storing food, pots and files and would like to pack this away neatly in their building.
