N3 Gateway Scoops Sanparks Kudu Awards
The annual SANParks Kudu Awards ceremony, held on the 18th of November at Gallagher Estates in Midrand, was a ceremony to honour and recognise those deserving internal and external stakeholders for their vital contributions in educating, inspiring and displaying extraordinary environmental activism within SAN Parks.
SANParks CEO Mr Fundisile Mketeni, said, “These awards honour people for their meaningful contributions to the protection of the environment through various means that reflect society’s admirable social responsibility – giving meaning to the SANParks vision of ‘A Sustainable National Parks System Connecting Society’.
The N3 Gateway Tourism Association, one of the fastest growing tourism associations in South Africa, won the ‘Associated Partners’ Award. This award was given for its value-add efforts in marketing Golden Gate Highlands National Park and making the park one of the preferred tourism destinations along the N3 Gateway Route.
Vice Chairman of the N3 Gateway, Mr Victor Mokoena, scooped ‘The Best Leadership’ Kudu Award, for his hard-working and tireless dedication to Golden Gate Highlands National Park. Earlier in the year Victor received the ‘Leadership Award’ at the Northern Regional Parks Award Ceremony. Victor, who until a month ago was the Acting Parks Manager for Golden Gate Highlands National Park, has returned to SANParks Head Office where he continues his service with SANParks as Regional Tourism and Marketing Manager.
