When to Go:Peak Season is very busy – Summer holidays in December and Easter holidays, and therefore are excluded from this rate. Autumn and Spring are recommended.

Other:Pack appropriate clothing for the season. A light jersey is recommended, jeans, walking shoes, sun cream and sun hat, costume and swimming towel.

Points Of Interest:Accommodation is at the attractive and hospitable bed and breakfast, Cathkin Cottage, which is nestled in the valley of this pristine World Heritage Site. Cathkin Cottage is well maintained, with beautifully decorated rooms, a mini bar fridge, fan and heater, tea and coffee making facilities and each room has its own private entrance and is en-suite. The rooms are serviced daily and guests are encouraged to relax around the pool and on the patio.
Champagne Valley, Central Drakensberg, offers an abundance of activities and restaurants. It is the most established area within the Drakensberg region with numerous activities and facilities available. Visitors to this region will find that peace and tranquillity reign supreme and whilst some might choose to hike others may relax and enjoy the views.
In the evenings guests can go to one of the many restaurants and pubs to enjoy dining and socialising. Sporting events are televised in the pubs.
A three-day experience in the Champagne Valley, enjoy a Drakensberg Boys Choir performance, dinner, helicopter flip, champagne breakfast on the mountain, tree canopy tour and a relaxed hike to bushman paintings.
Day 1 – WEDNESDAY:
Arrive by 14h00.
Drakensberg Boys Choir (dependent upon their annual programme) at 15h30.
Dinner at Dragons Peak Resort (excluding refreshments and only strictly the selection on their set Wednesday menu).
Day 2 – THURSDAY:
15min chopper flip with Westline Aviation in the morning.
Rest of day at leisure.
Day 3 – FRIDAY:
Self hike to the Blue Grotto (three hours), with picnic hamper
Rest of day at leisure.
Day 4 – SATURDAY:
Departure by 10h00.
