Full-day Sani Pass Tour, which includes a tour of a living Basotho village in Lesotho. Lunch at the highest pub in Africa. Accommodation provided at Bergview Log Cabin, Underberg.
Day 1 Friday:
Drive from Johannesburg or Durban to Southern Drakensberg, Underberg. Bergview, situated on the outskirts of Underberg, has magnificent views of the Southern Drakensberg mountain range.
Depending on your time of arrival, you can relax on the deck of Bergview and use the gas braai to prepare your evening dinner, or you could explore the towns of Underberg and Himeville, before eating out at one of the lovely restaurants in the area.
Day 2 Saturday:
You will be collected from Bergview at about 09h00 in the morning. Start your climb up Sani Pass, where you will stop at breathtaking view sites and two border posts (don’t forget your passport). Once at the top of Sani Pass, you can enjoy a lunch at the highest pub in Africa. Lunch is not included and prices range from R55 to R135 pp. Afterwards, visit a living Basotho village to learn about Lesotho and its people and where you can enjoy traditional beer and homemade bread on request. Then it’s time to wind down Sani Pass and arrive back at Bergview between 16h00 and 16h30.
Day 3 Sunday:
Return back home or extend your stay by an extra day to leave on Monday. If returning on Monday you can opt for other activities including wine tasting, visiting the Underberg cheese factory, hiking, horse riding, etc.
