When to Go:All flights start at sunrise; we fly all year-round.
Itinerary Rating:Children over the age of five are welcome. There is no age limit for adults provided they are able to stand for the duration of the one-hour flight.
Other:Other Information: Clothing and equipment requirements: • Wear a hat or cap; • Use sunscreen on your face as you are exposed to direct sunlight during the flight; • Please bring something warm as it can be chilly at sunrise, even in the middle of summer; • Temperatures are often warmer in the air than on the ground; • Wear clothing in removable layers. We also recommend long pants and closed flat shoes as you have to climb into and out of the basket; • As shoes can become quite damp in the morning dew bring a spare pair for after the flight; • Extra clothing and jackets may be left with the ground crew during the flight; • Remember to pack extra batteries for your camera.
An exhilarating Hot Air Ballooning adventure in the central Drakensberg (Champagne Valley), the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands or Tala Game Reserve near Pietermaritzburg. The duration of the entire adventure is about four hours and includes breakfast.
Start your adventure by meeting us at sunrise. Watch the pilot inflate the balloon while sipping coffee and taking photos, and then it is time to get aboard for a thrilling one-hour flight as the balloon floats through the sky. Once back on ground, enjoy champagne and orange juice while the crew deflates and packs the balloon. Breakfast is most welcome after a morning of fun and all passengers receive a certificate to commemorate their unforgettable airborne experience.
