Gauteng Tourism Authority (GTA) is an agency of The Gauteng Provincial Government. The Authority promotes the development of sustainable tourism by marketing and managing the range of products and experiences the destination offers.
As a Destination Marketing Organisation (DMO), GTA’s primary role is to position Gauteng as a premier tourist destination in the global arena. The GTA also register tour guides in according with the Tourism Act (Act 72 of 1993). The GTA therefore vigorously markets Gauteng as the vibrant business and leisure tourism capital of Africa.
It is the gateway and economic powerhouse of the Southern African Region and provides great economic opportunity, cultural vitality and ethnic diversity. Renowned for its sporting facilities in the continent, it is also a leader in terms of conference and convention infrastructure, boasting over 400 meeting venues, offering fantastic choice to meeting organisers.
