The Vaal offers a good balance of activities for business travelers, families, romantic couples or thrill seekers. An array of packages and activities are on offer, such as: golfing, cruising our 55km of inland water or sailing the Vaal Dam, theatres, scuba diving, taking a bicycle or horse-cart tour of our townships, fishing, hiking, upper Vaal river rafting, country markets and a working farm museum. Many annual events offer visitors diverse cultural experiences in the region. These include: the Human Rights Festival, Vaal River Carnival, Vaal River Meander Wine Route, to name but a few.

Gauteng’s largest nature reserve, the Suikerbosrand Nature Reserve, the protected and unique Heidelberg Copper Butterfly, the world’s largest collection of waterfowl at Treehaven Waterfowl Trust and a closer view of the animal kingdom at the zoo at Animal World are all waiting to be discovered.
